Dear Music lover,
This database is an ode to the beautiful exciting sixties from the last century. One of the great things which was happening was a giant musical outburst everywhere on this planet from Canada to New Zealand. Everywhere young teenagers were grabbing musical instruments and playing like madmen to get rich, famous and of course a lot of dates. This site focusses on the Dutch 60’s scene where you will find many photos of well known but also totally unknown Dutch Beat-R&B-Mod and Psychedelic groups.
The Dutch Beat scene was huge and besides the big cities like Den Haag, Amsterdam, Utrecht and Eindhoven even small cities had their own share of beatgroups trying to play, lookalike and hope to become as famous as their heroes like The Beatles, Who, Stones, Yardbirds, Pretty Things, etc.
This database is the top of what seems to be a giant iceberg of thousands of Dutch Beatgroups and we’re not sure if it ever will be completed. But we do need the help of all our visitors.
If you were in a Dutch 60’s beatgroup or have pictures of groups which aren't in our database, please help us by sending photos and all the missing info!
Soundfiles like studio, rehearsel- and livetracks, are also much appreciated.
